APPLICANT: Centro Studi ed Iniziative Europeo (CESIE)
CESIE – European Centre of Studies and Initiatives – is a non-profit and independent European non-governmental organisation. It was established in 2001 inspired by the life and work of the leading Italian sociologist Danilo Dolci (1924-1997). The organisation works towards the promotion of cultural, educational, scientific and economic development at both local and international levels through the employment of innovative and participative tools and methodologies including the Reciprocal Maieutic Approach developed by Danilo Dolci; Four Pillars of Education; Lateral Thinking; Learning by doing.
Its aims are to:
- Promote intercultural dialogue
- Support social inclusion and equal opportunities
- Facilitate lifelong education and vocational training
- Foster responsible and supportive global development
- Develop and support networking at local and international levels
- Encourage international cooperation
PARTNER 1: Palermo University (1806)
With two centuries of life behind it, is today a consolidated cultural, scientific and didactic presence throughout central western Sicily. Articulated in 12 faculties and 80 departments, it covers the most important fields of contemporary scientific and technological knowledge. The University – ever active in all the cultural and scientific ferments of our time – unites to a constant open attitude to innovation, research, and dialogue with the production world, presents itself as a tessera in a mosaic of institutions that are committed to the expansion of the territory and as a point of interchange of international relations directed at the spreading of knowledge and at the comparative presentation of cultures.
PARTNER 2: The Thuringian Association of adult education centres
The Thuringian Association of Adult Education (TVV e.V.) is the regional umbrella organization of the 23 adult education centres (Volkshochschulen) located in the communities or major cities of Thuringia. The TVV e.V. is associated with a wide network of institutions in Thuringia, in Germany and across Europe. We work with regional ministries, adult education organisations all over Germany, schools, the Thuringian teacher training school, social partners, publishers, chambers of commerce, political representative, etc. As an umbrella organization we provide a wide range of services for our members, including lobby work. In a broader sense, we aim to promote adult education in general and in political, cultural and professional terms. We are involved in the implementation of lifelong learning by raising awareness among the wider public and by working on the basic conditions for its success.
Since 2000 we have been actively involved in projects on a European level such as Learning partnerships, or Multilateral Projects. The TVV e.V.
PARTNER 3: “die Berater” GmbH
Has been founded in 2009 to implement non-profit-oriented, social and charity activities, aimed at integrating disadvantaged groups into society and promoting values like fairness, tolerance and active citizenship. “die Berater” Gemeinnützige GmbH can draw on the human resources of the trainers, coaches and other staff of the company “die Berater” Unternehmensberatungs GmbH, a private company founded in 1998 and active in around 60 locations all over Austria in the following fields:
- Education and training
- Coaching and counselling
- EU projects
die Berater offer educational seminars and training courses for individuals, organisations, and enterprises from soft skills to languages and information technologies. Their main aims are to motivate and qualify customers to make full use of their potentials in the economy, at the labour market and in their personal lives. Contents and methodologies, including blended learning, are tailor-made according to the needs of customers.

PARTNER 4: Salvati Copiii (SC Romania)
Salvati Copiii (SC Romania) is a national non-governmental organization, promoting, defending and monitoring children’s rights as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. SC Romania’s programs address to all the children, but it focuses on the most vulnerable groups of children: working street children, institutionalized children, HIV/AIDS children, abused and neglected children, unaccompanied children, trafficked children, Roma children. 68,000 children have been included in the carried out programs and participated in the taken actions.
- Pedagogische Hochschule Wien: provide the initial educatio of the future generation of teacher in Vienna and the continuuous and further in service trainign of all active member of the teaching professions
- MED: Italian association for media education and communication, was born at the behest of a group of academics, meda professionals and educators and is an ideal place for liaison and service in dialogue between experts and communication professionals.
